FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Tacoma, WA – July 2025 – Aquagga, Inc. (Aquagga), the exclusive provider of Hydrothermal Alkaline Treatment (HALT) technology, has mobilized two Aquagga Steed Series systems to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) site in Vicksburg, Mississippi, for a significant demonstration focused on the treatment and disposal of aqueous film-forming foam (AFFF) stockpiles.

This effort, funded by the National Defense Center for Energy & Environment (NDCEE), will feature two Steed Series systems operating simultaneously in parallel, significantly increasing processing capacity and showcasing Aquagga’s scalability in addressing complex PFAS-contaminated waste streams.

The Steed systems deployed at the ERDC site will be operated remotely from Aquagga’s headquarters in Tacoma, WA, with additional staff on-site in Vicksburg to support project execution. The remote operation and monitoring capabilities underscore the advanced technological features built into the Steed Series, enabling real-time oversight, increased operational safety, and efficiency.

“This demonstration is a major milestone for Aquagga,” said Somnath Mukherjee, Staff Controls Engineer at Aquagga. “Implementing dual systems in parallel requires meticulous attention to control logic and system interlocks to ensure safe, coordinated operation. Automated processes like heat-up, cooldown, and sampling make the system easier to manage. Our advanced automation and remote monitoring enhance treatment efficiency and ensure high levels of safety and reliability. We’re proud to showcase these critical capabilities.”

This demonstration at the USACE ERDC facility reinforces Aquagga’s commitment to advancing solutions for critical environmental challenges posed by PFAS contamination, specifically targeting legacy AFFF stockpiles, a challenge shared by DoD installations, airports, fire training centers, and industrial sites across the country.

Aquagga Project Manager Kenny King highlighted the team's preparation and professionalism: “Our team has worked hard to ensure the successful completion of this project. I'm especially proud of the team’s collective commitment to safety, technical excellence, and efficient execution throughout the whole process. We are excited to demonstrate our capability to efficiently destroy PFAS at scale.”
